A Christmas
Message from the
Head of
School
Christmas is a good
time to reflect on the year that is passing and for the year to
come.
'Joy to the World'
sounds in our ears, from car radios and CD's, at shopping malls
and worship services. But even now, as we focus on Christmas preparations
there are many for whom these days are less than joyous. What
has happened to 'Peace on Earth Good Will Toward Men'? In many
parts of the world, there is no peace, and in the hearts of many
men, there is very little that could pass for good will.
Christmas is a celebration
for Christians but all religions have peace and compassion as
the essence of faith. For the Christians amongst us we more easily
associate Santa with holiday than the Child of Bethlehem. While
these other expressions can complement our celebration of the
feast, they should not so greatly overwhelm us, so that we lose
track on our spiritual journey and end up at some other destination.
At IPS we encourage
all the children to learn and put into practice that giving and
sharing is what Christmas is all about.
I would like to thank
all the members of the school community for their valuable contribution
to the very successful Christmas Fair.
I would also like to
say good bye to the Class 7 and to some families who have been
with us for many years. These families are: Pougnet, Lockyer,
Wiehe, Leung Pah Hang and Trail. Thank you for the support and
assistance you have given the school during your children's time
with us.
As you go off to celebrate
Christmas in your homes, I extend to you my best wishes for joy,
peace and good health during the festive season, and throughout
the New Year ahead.
