Since its inception in 1989, International Preparatory School has had an extremely active parents' association which has in the past organised and run the school library, religious instruction and sports activities. The first two are now run by the school itself. The Association now concentrates on the organisation of social activities such as end of year Christmas pageant, car rallies, fancy fairs and the raising of funds for books, playground equipment, etc.

When necessary parents are asked to help with activities such as school outings and class reading groups.

Message from the IPS Parents' Association

We are a melting pot of parents, old and new, who form the core of a hard-working team, and whose goal is to assist and support the school in non-academic areas with the intention of uplifting our children's environment.
We strive to do so by focusing on the provision of services in a diverse areas: from the running of the Uniform Shop on the one hand to the publication of our monthly newsletter, no challenge is too big and no detail too small.

Our philosophy is based on the recognition that the school is made up of children and parents from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds (22 different nationalities at the last count!). With that multiplicity come constraints and diverging needs, but we try very hard to cater to as many parents as possible, and this is no mean feat! This is made possible by the dedication of the PA mums and all of you parents who regularly help out by giving up precious time and energy in our various endeavors.
We draw on expertise across a variety of disciplines from the mums who support and cross-reference on our six big portfolios:

Publishing : The Yearbook, School Directory, School Handbook, our monthly newsletter, and support to the printing requirements of the other portfolios.
Fundraising : Annual Golf Day, Fun Day and Cake 'N Candy
Extra-Murals : Karate, Catechism and Holiday Camp
Sports : Annual Sports Day, Swimming Gala and organisational support of other school sports activities
Shop Running : Uniforms and Stationery
Catering : Year-long around school events and fund-raisers

This has been a busy and rewarding year, and as in most things in life, some things we get right straight away, others we learn from our mistakes and apply ourselves to do better the next time round. Thank you to all current members of the PA for your outstanding commitment and support, and to all of you parents whose input, positive and negative, we cherish as it enables us to constantly reassess our auxiliary role within the framework of the school.
