International Preparatory School is a private English medium primary school situated at Mapou, in the northern part of Mauritius. It was founded in 1989 to meet the needs of the many English speaking expatriates and Mauritians living in this rapidly developing region.

At IPS we strive to achieve the all round development of a child: physical, social and intellectual. We believe these aspects must go hand in hand if children are to be balanced, well adjusted individuals, able to contribute positively to society.

Our school seeks to provide its pupils with a broad-based primary education. While special emphasis is placed on language, science and mathematics. Children are also taught to explore their world through social and environmental studies, art, craft, technology and computer studies. The cultural programme consisting of drama and music encourages self expression whilst physical education encourages team work. IPS prepares children for entry into English medium secondary schools both in Mauritius and Abroad.
