Conditions of acceptance and
placement at IPS.
Acceptance and placement:
Pupils enter IPS at the age of three into
our Nursery Year. Other students enter from overseas.
Parents applying for entrance at the
nursery level must contact the school at least two years
prior to entry for registration. This does not mean a confirmed
place. Brothers and sisters have automatic entry if the
school is able to cater for them.
Confirmation of places is given in March
for entry in September.
The school has specific entry criteria
for the Nursery class, and all subsequent admissions are
only after assessment and interview.
Waiting list
Due to overwhelming demand the school
often has waiting lists for most classes and the Nursery
class in particular. Parents from overseas are strongly
advised to wait for confirmation of their child's admission
before finalising their plans to move to Mauritius.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is payable on reception
of a letter of confirmation from the school. If a student
accepts the place, the fee is not refunded should the student
not join the school.
Fees
School fees are paid by monthly instalment
(payable over 10 months of the year - September to June).
The book scheme, insurance, subcription to PA and the investment
- funding loan are paid annually.
Mauritian students pay slightly less
than non-Mauritian. The registration fee is a one-time payment
made before a student enters the school. The current fee
schedule is available from the school accounts department.
- To qualify for Mauritian fees a
student must have one parent who is a Mauritian national,
and be in possession of a Mauritian birth certificate
or be registered in a parent's Mauritian passport.
- School fees are payable in advance
and only by banker's standing order.
- There is a 10% discount on monthly
fees for a third and all subsequent children.
- One full terms notice (four months)
must be given in writing to IPS when withdrawing a student,
or the term fee will be charged in lieu.
- No refund will be given on pupil
expulsion.
When fees are outstanding, the
school reserves the right to send home or suspend a student.
Insurance
School insurance is obligatory. The
insurance cover taken by the school is a 24hr worldwide
coverage for up to Rs50,000.
Parents' Association
All parents are required to be members
of the PA, and should make every effort to participate in
its functions. The PA's objectives are to provide assistance
to the school for school-approved activities, fund-raising
projects, and social functions to foster and enhance the
school community.
Admission Policy (Enrolment

A separate form listing the school fees
